info:
After qualifying from the University of Liverpool in 2007 Emma started her veterinary career in a mixed practice in the Lake District. After two enjoyable years getting accustomed to the profession she decided to move back 'home' to Huddersfield and settled into a job at Donaldson's Vets, where she had seen practice as a school and vet student. Being based at the Thongsbridge branch Emma spends the majority of the time dealing with pets in the surgery but she still enjoy the odd venture out and about when needed. One hazard of working at a vets is taking home some of the stray and abandoned animals that come through our doors. Her first 'waif' was a baby white rabbit with poor eyesight whom she named Pancakes and having no garden at the time moved into her house. Having Pancakes has been an eye opener into how entertaining rabbits can be and thanks to him she has found herself having a greater interest in the health and welfare of rabbits in general. Emma is keen to ensure they get as good a service at our practice as our more regular dog and cat patients. Pancakes now lives with his bonded companion Elsie, a cat named Bob and two very adorable, if very excitable Boxers named Betsy and Braxton.I am currently expecting my first baby and will be taking maternity leave from April 2015 but will be returning to Thongsbridge in early 2016.
